A review recently found that those middle age to elderly patients with the highest levels of vitamin D experienced significantly lower levels of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and metabolic syndrome than those patients with the lowest levels of vitamin D.  Also, in a separate study, vitamin D was shown to act directly on two genes that are linked to the gastrointestinal disease Crohn's, demonstrating a possible link between vitamin D deficiency and the genetics of the disease.  Coach Maurer can always find something good to say about vitamin D

Our Mission

Maurer's Wellness Center specializes in nutritional consultations and working with the body to obtain positive results.  Our policy is to recommend and sell high quality vitamins, minerals and supplements along with Diet and Lifestyle Changes for Optimal Health.  God made a glorious body, with proper care and nutrition the body will heal.

Professional Profile                             

Fritz graduated from Purdue University with  a Batchelor of Science in Pharmacy and has been a licensed pharmacist since 1973.  He opened his own Pharmacy in December 1983 and in July 2005 sold his pharmacy and converted to a "Wellness Center" format  to concentrate on his passion for "Natural Medicine."  In May 2002, after more than 200 hours of studies, he received his Certification for Clinical Nutrition (CCN).  To further his education, Fritz enrolled at the Pan-American Institute to study under Dr. Charles McWilliams. In October 2004, he received his Doctor of Natural Medicine (DNM) sanctioned under the World Organization of Naturopathic Medical Practitioners (WONMP) in Toronto, Canada.  He is currently finishing his Naturopathic Doctor (ND) Degree.
